Pet of the Week

The official state dog is, of course, the Alaska husky. Cody truly represents the breed. This beautiful, 1-year-old gray-and-white guy has a lot of personality. He's affectionate, outgoing and playful, and he loves going for walks. Like all Alaskans, he loves wild caught, fresh salmon his favorite treat.

If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from the Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Call 235-3141 for information.
