I'm concerned and learning much. Carbon dioxide has been 20 times more prevalent on earth many times eons past when life was most prolific. During the medieval period and Roman era, global temps were 5 or 6 degrees warmer than today. The ice cap on Mars has been melting the last few years rapidly, too. Warming historically comes before, not after, the rise of CO2 levels. Humans contribute to only about 2 percent of CO2 presently; one volcano puts off more CO2 than the whole last 100 years of industrialized humanity. Science shows some large climate changes have occurred on earth, warm and cold, which often came about very rapidly. It'd be ignorant to think mini ice ages won't happen again.

I understand there's been a warming trend in the northern hemisphere, permafrost is melting and releasing methane, and the Arctic Ocean/Greenland and glaciers are melting. One could drive up to Portage Glacier 15 years ago, now you need binoculars. Earth has been doing about a 150-year warming trend which could explain melting, also an active sun not long ago. There's evidence Antarctica is growing, not shrinking, these last 11 years, and the last 3 years a global cooling trend. It's very debatable what is human caused.

I'm not in favor of destroying fish habitat or toxic waste for Gia or us, so don't get me wrong about the many pollutants. I've seen plant death downwind from the Nikiski plant. Who is studying the "heat" humans make, instead of CO2? Most human population is in the northern hemisphere. Coincidence North Pole is melting and South Pole growing? I'm not implying do nothing, to the contrary, learn, educate, leave the oil/coal in the ground as long as possible till we have better answers, aim for clean energy/sustainability especially locally, prepare for big changes. My gut feeling is that climate will change with or without humans.

I also know of a little cabal of bankers, multinational corporations and elites (IMF, World bank, big oil, and many familiar dirty names, whom I don't believe have nature's best interests in mind), who desire profit, control and tax on planet/people/countries, who would fudge/manipulate numbers/science, intimidate scientists, and use great power of propaganda to instigate a "treaty" with huge self-serving loopholes in "Cap and Trade" and supersede USA law/constitution. Once in place it would be nearly impossible to overturn, while doing near nothing to halt pollution, but much to starve the Third World. Whistle-blowing computer hackers exposed many dirty dealings recently. Please research and convince me. Instigating a New World Tax has some evil potentials.
