PETA offers advice

In light of India’s monkey overpopulation problem (AP story), People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) would like to remind readers that whether they’re dealing with monkeys in New Delhi or mice in New York, there is always a humane solution to every wildlife conflict. Resorting to violence is never effective, because new populations of animals will simply move in to fill the void left by those who were killed.

As our intense development continues to destroy wildlife habitat, we owe it to the animals to coexist with them humanely. The best way to prevent conflicts with any wildlife species is by making our homes and offices unappealing and inaccessible to them: Seal up cracks and holes in buildings and keep all food and garbage in tightly sealed, chew-proof containers. Visit www.HelpingWildlife.com for more tips on dealing with wildlife conflicts humanely and effectively.
