If you would like to adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from the Public Works off the Sterling Highway. The shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday, noon-5 p.m. Call 235-3141 for information.
Like his namesake, Homer has a lot of heart. This about 2-year-old springer spaniel-American bulldog mix has a grin as wide as the Spit. He loves to ride in cars and go to the beach. He's good off leash and comes back with a whistle. He'll even pull a kid's sled full of toys to help Santa on his deliveries. This cute guy doesn't bark he talks.
