This is the time of year when many of us focus on giving to others, especially to those who are in “need” — a place we all experience at one time or another in our lives. It is comforting to know there are community members and businesses that care and step in to assist. Hospice of Homer is taking this opportunity to thank a number of these organizations and businesses for their recent giving.

Thank you: Ulmer’s and Safeway for hosting the Traveling Heart of Hospice Bank. The Heart Bank is currently at the Oaken Keg, Safeway and will be at another local business next month. Be sure to watch for it. It is a great spot for your change.

Thank you: Snomads and Women’s Guild, St John’s Catholic Church for your support now and over the years. Your giving has been especially important in helping hospice meet operating expenses.

Thank you: Safeway for providing goodies for the recent Hospice of Homer Volunteer Appreciation Tea.

Thank you: All the people who volunteer for hospice. You are so important.
