Rising from the ashes

The old Club Bar sign — with its phoenix motif — emerges after the Alice’s Champagne Palace signs were removed from the bar on Pioneer Avenue. The Club Bar sign, painted by artist Brad Hughes, first appeared on New Year’s 1976, when the bar reopened after being destroyed in a fire.
