Week 16 was a banner one for the Picker.
With a 10-6 record I looked to be cruising on easy street, until, that is, I got this e-mail from South Dakota.
Nathan Mueller, a new subscriber from Marvin, S.D., sent along his picks. And wouldn't you know it, he won.
Congratulations Nathan.
Since I'm all out of Georgetown Hoyas Women's Basketball programs, and I've heard it's better to give than receive, I've decided the least I could do for Nathan would be to extend the Mueller's subscription to the News for six months.

There is only one more week left in both the season and sadly, this column. Now is the time to send in your picks.
Is there a better way to ring in the new year than getting your name in the paper? Well, probably. But it's better to get it printed in this column than in the police blotter.
