Ithaca Ivy Sorensen and Tyler Cameron Janzen

Ithaca Ivy Sorensen of Homer, Alaska, and Tyler Cameron Janzen of Fort Collins, Colorado, were married on Sept. 25, 2017 at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado. The ceremony was officiated by Charlie Ahlquist of Portland, Oregon.

Ithaca and Tyler met during their undergraduate education at Lewis and Clark College in Portland, Oregon. They both lived in Alaska, and then in Colorado. The couple taught English in Morioka Iwate, Japan before moving to London for a year to earn their masters degrees. Ithaca has a Master of Arts in anthropology of travel and tourism, and Tyler has a Master of Science in international relations.

Ithaca is the daughter of Martine Cyriacks Sorensen of Homer, and Kent (Jenny) Sorensen, of Homer. Her grandmother is Gail Sorensen of Homer.

The couple now lives in Portland, Oregon where Tyler is a junior analyst for Atlas Facilities Maintenance, Inc. and BuildingBits, a crowdfunded real estate startup launching soon. Ithaca is a tourism marketing assistant for the Clackamas County Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.
