The 10th annual Kachemak Ski for Women is at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Lookout Mountain ski trails on Ohlson Mountain Road. Registration begins at noon. A short, fun women s cross-country ski race, proceeds benefit South Peninsula Haven House. The registration fee is a $15 donation. There are prizes for costumes and new games galore. A four-week Complete Health Improvement Project, or CHIP, class starts Feb. 11. People interested in taking the classes are invited to attend a free information and registration session at 2 p.m. Feb. 3 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 210 East Pioneer Ave. (next to Salvation Army Thrift store). CHIP has improved lives of nearly 100 graduates in Homer, and you are invited to join them on the journey toward optimal health. Participants experience a drop in total cholesterol, reduction in blood pressure, a normalizing of high glucose levels and loss of excess weight. Information sessions are relaxed and informal with time for questions and discussion. The Homer Fish and Game Advisory Committee meet 6:30 p.m. Feb. 12 in the NERRS building. The winning design receives a free two-day state park cabin rental and round-trip water taxi ride with Mako s Water Taxi.
