Jubilee! month starts

Jubilee!, the annual celebration of arts sponsored by the Homer Council on the Arts, starts in April with two First Friday art openings. From 5-7 p.m. at HCOA and at the Pratt Museum, youth art from local students is shown. Performance applications are due 5 p.m. April 10, with auditions 4-7 p.m,. April 11 at the Mariner Theatre. The month ends with the big Jubilee! performance at 7 p.m. April 28 at the Mariner Theatre. For more information, call HCOA at 235-4288 or visit

Scottish singer-songwriter returns to Bunnell

Scottish singer-songwriter Gwendolen Chatfield returns for a concert at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Bunnell Street Arts Center. A country-dance instructor as well, Chatfield was a Bunnell Artist in Residence in April 2016. During her visit she also will be an Artist in the Schools at Homer Middle School and in Nanwalek and Port Graham.
