Bunnell holds Plate Project opening reception Saturday

Bunnell Street Arts Center holds an opening reception for its membership fundraiser, the annual Plate Project, at 5 p.m. Saturday at the gallery. View plates created by artist volunteers. Members joining at pledges of $250 or more can select plates.

Chamber orchestra holds free concert May 12 at church

The Anchorage Bowl Chamber Orchestra performs a concert of short chmber works by classical/romantic composers such as Roussel, Nielson, and Schubert at 7:30 p.m. May 12 at Homer United Methodist Church. The concert is free, but donations are welcome at the door.

Photographers invited to enter Rarefied Light

Fine art photographers can now enter Rarefied Light 2017, the annual statewide juried art exhibition sponsored by the Alaska Photographic Center. Submit entries by June 4. For more information, visit www.callforentry.org and search on “Rarefied Art.” The exhibition is open to all Alaska photographers and can be two- or three-dimensional photographically derived works. Boston photographer Henry Horenstein is this year’s guest juror.
