Deadline is March 27 for Jubilee youth art exhibit in April

The deadline to drop off art work for the Homer Council on the Arts annual Jubilee Art Show is March 27 for exhibit in April. Jubilee celebrates youth in the arts with a gallery exhibit featuring original work from students grades kindergarten through 12. Bring two- and three-dimensional work to HCOA by March 27, 2017. The First Friday opening is 5-7 p.m. April 7.

Climate change art contest is open

The Artists Know Climate Change art contest is looking for original art submissions. Deadline for entry is March 31. This contest offers $500 for the best of show submission, and $2,000 in total prize money. Art will be on display at the Alaska Islands and Ocean Visitor Center during the Earth Day event, on April 22. For more information, visit ttp://www.kbayconservation.org/art-contest.html.

Storytellers meet Saturday

Homer Storytellers will have the first of their planned monthly meetings from 3-5 p.m. Saturday at the Homer Public Library conference room. For more information, call Skywalker Payne at 235-3180. See story on the Storytellers on page 6.
