A baby girl was born at 6:13 a.m. Sept. 9, 2017 at South Peninsula Hospital to Rachel and Jason Allmendinger of Homer. She weighed 9 pounds, 1 ounce. Her grandparents are Jerry Allmendinger of New Braunfels, Texas; Joyce Bateman of Kalispell, Montana; and Ron Bennett of Fairbanks.
