Dec. 17

A caller at 9:19 a.m. requested assistance with a person who was out of control on Mattox Road. Officers went to the scene and took a man into protective custody. He was taken to South Peninsula Hospital.

An agency at 10:04 a.m. passed on a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle at Mile 169 Sterling Highway. An officer went to the area but didn’t find the vehicle.

Officers at 11:17 a.m. assisted with a juvenile remand on Fairview Avenue The minor was transported to Ninilchik.

Officers at 12:42 p.m. assisted medics with an emergency call on Jade Avenue.

A caller at 4:30 p.m. reported a theft from their property on Main Street. An officer took a report and it’s under investigation.

An officer at 8:43 p.m. gave a driver a warning for having expired registration at Soundview Avenue and the Sterling Highway.

A caller at 8:54 p.m. reported a vehicle collision on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene.

Dec. 18

A caller at 10:36 a.m. reported a neighbor causing a disturbance and a possibly damaged door. Officers issued a 52-year-old woman a citation for fifth-degree criminal mischief.

A caller at 12:59 p.m. reported a shoplifter at a business on Homer Bypass Road. An officer was notified and it’s under investigation.

A caller at 2:48 p.m. requested that a welfare check be made on an employee on Linda Court who the caller hadn’t heard from in a while. The officer attempted to contact the employee.

An officer at 3:15 p.m. contacted a man with an arrest warrant during a traffic stop on Kachemak Drive. The 45-year-old man was arrested on a warrant for failing to appear in court and was taken to the Homer Jail.

A caller at 9:19 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at East End Road and East Hill Road. An officer went to the area but didn’t find the vehicle. The officer then contacted the driver a while later and gave them a DUI warning.

Dec. 19

A caller at 1:58 a.m. reported a domestic dispute on Main Street. An officer went to the scene and found it was verbal only and that no crime had been committed. The officer advised the people involved to keep it down.

A caller at 2:51 a.m. reported a vehicle collision on East End Road. An officer and medics went to the scene. A 33-year-old woman was arrested for a felony DUI and refusing a chemical test.

A caller at 6:17 a.m. requested to speak to an officer about harassing communications they were getting on Ben Walters Lane. An officer spoke with the caller.

A caller at 11:35 a.m. reported a suspicious circumstance at a neighbor’s home on April Place. An officer advised the caller of their options.

An officer at 12:14 p.m. assisted the Seldovia Police Department on Kachemak Drive.

A caller at 2:06 p.m. reported a red semi truck pulling a trailer had items hanging off the back “and almost caused an accident.” An officer contacted the driver at Spit Road and Ocean Drive.

An off-duty officer at 2:07 p.m. reported a suspicious circumstance involving a vehicle at Saltwater Drive and the Sterling Highway. An on-duty officer went to the scene.

A caller at 5:13 p.m. reported shoplifters at a business on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 6:07 p.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch in the area of West Hill Road and Eagleview Avenue. Officers went to the scene and contacted the driver.

An officer at 10:05 p.m. gave a driver a citation for driving with their license suspended at Soundview Avenue and the Sterling Highway.

Dec. 20

A caller at 2:02 a.m. reported a suspicious circumstance at a business on Ocean Drive. An officer went to the scene to contact the people involved.

A caller at 5:07 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on Lake Street. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 26-year-old man for driving under the influence.

A medical facility on Bartlett Street reported a patient under protective custody attempting to leave the building at 10:50 a.m. An officer went to the scene, found the person and took them back to protective custody at the Homer Jail.

An officer at 8:26 p.m. assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department on Klondike Avenue. One man was taken to South Peninsula Hospital.

A business at 10:57 p.m. reported an intoxicated woman refusing to leave the business on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer and medics went to the scene.

An officer at 11:16 p.m. assisted with a suicidal person on Bartlett Street.

Dec. 21

A caller at 11:09 a.m. assisted a driver with a disabled vehicle in the roadway on Homer Bypass Road.

Multiple callers at 11:34 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Greatland Street and Homer Bypass Road. The vehicle had struck a sign. An officer issued the driver a citation.

A caller at 4:53 p.m. reported finding a dog in the Homer area. An officer assisted with placing the dog in the Homer Animal Shelter.

An officer at 6:49 p.m. assisted a woman on Hazel Avenue with retrieving an item from a closed building.

A caller at 8:02 p.m. made a third-party report hearing possible gunfire at Clover Lane and Alder Lane. An officer went to the area and contacted people shooting fireworks.

A caller at 10:42 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on Homer Bypass Road. An officer contacted the driver and arrested the 20-year-old male driver for driving under the influence.

Dec. 22

A caller at 5:15 p.m. reported a man violating conditions of his release on Hillview Place. An officer went to the scene and arrested a 35-year-old man on two counts of violating conditions of release.

An officer at 8:56 p.m. warned a driver for speeding at Soundview Avenue and the Sterling Highway.

An officer at 10:53 p.m. gave a driver a traffic warning at Soundview Avenue and the Sterling Highway.

Katrina M. Wheeler, 28, in a Dec. 16 case: failing to stop at the direction of an officer, reckless driving, driving with license canceled, revoked or suspended with a previous conviction and violating conditions of release. In a separate Dec. 16 case, first-degree vehicle theft. In a third separate case from Dec. 16: fifth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and two counts of violating conditions of release.

Contessa L. H. Swearingin, 46, fifth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of fourth-degree assault, all domestic violence-related.

Noah Horowitz, 29, driving under the influence.

Shirley A. Liggett, 52, fifth-degree criminal mischief.

Crystal Golden, 32, fifth-degree criminal mischief.

Michael W. Lasiter, 45, driving with license canceled, revoked or suspended for a criminal offense, and violating conditions of release.

Bailey A. Lowney, 33, felony DUI, felony refusal of a chemical test and fifth-degree criminal mischief.

Cobrey A. Lewis, 27, violating conditions of release and fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons.

Fred M. Hecks, 57, wanton waste of big game and wild fowl, tampering with physical evidence, hunting seasons and bag limits for moose violation, using a motorized vehicle in a controlled area, two counts of harvest ticket not in possession, and fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons for firing a gun near the highway.
