Homer Police

May 23

Homer Police at 5:28 a.m. arrested a 42-year-old Homer man for violating conditions of

release and took him to the Homer Jail.

Police at 12:35 p.m. made a routine traffic stop on a 19-year-old Anchor Point man. Police arrested him on two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Police at 7:05 p.m. contacted a driver in a vehicle parked on the side of the road. Police arrested a 60-year-old Homer man on a warrant for failure to appear in court. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

May 24

Police at 9:10 p.m. received a report of a suspicious person in the area. Police responded and arrested a 42-year-old Homer man on a warrant for petition to revoke probation. He was taken to the Homer Jail. Police also charged him with fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, second-degree promoting contraband and giving false information.

May 25

Police at 2:25 p.m. went to a report of a vehicle collision. During the investigation they arrested a 23-year-old Homer man on two warrants for failure to appear in court.

Police a 7:15 p.m. arrested a 40-year-old Homer man on a warrant for failure to post cash bond on an original charge of hinderng prosecution.

Police at 9:10 p.m. received a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint and contacted the suspect driver, a 37-year-old Anchor Point man. They arrested him for DUI.

May 26

Police at 1:08 p.m. received a report of a death at home of an 83-year-old Homer woman.

May 27

Police at 1:35 p.m. went to a Lake Street store for a report of a shoplifter. Police issued a summons against a 34-year-old Homer man for fourth-degree theft and a two-year no trespassing order from the store.

Police at 7:37 p.m. arrested a 37-year-old Homer person on a warrant for failure to appear in court.

May 28

Police at 11:33 p.m. went to Karen Hornaday Park Campground for a disturbance and arrested a 20-year-old Homer man for disorderly conduct. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

May 29

Police at 9:02 p.m. went to Karen Hornaday Park Campground for a disturbance and arrested a 60-year-old Homer man for disorderly conduct. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Alaska State Troopers

May 24

Alaska State Troopers at 9:09 p.m. went to a report of a domestic disturbance near Mile 149 Sterling Highway. Troopers said a 48-year-old Anchorage man assaulted a domestic partnet. Troopers arrested him for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence, and took him to the Homer Jail.

May 25

The Alaska State Fire Marshals Office received a complaint of unsafe conditions at a commercial structure on Pioneer Avenue in Homer. Deputy Fire Marshals from the Department of Public Safety reviewed the complaint and on Wednesday, May 25, traveled to Homer to investigate the complaint and inspect the structure. Deputy Fire Marshals inspected the structure and determined that one of the suites in the building was operating without a valid plan review for the type of commercial activity that was being conducted. Deputy Fire Marshals determined that the unreviewed suite was unsafe to occupy and notified the lessee that they would not be able to conduct commercial business in the suite until a plan review was completed with the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Troopers at 7:21 p.m. made a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a driver in Anchor Point. Troopers said the driver, a 38-year-old Anchor Point woman, had two outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court. The woman also did not have automobile insurance and had not transferred the title into her name. Troopers issued her summonses for no motor vehicle liability insurance and new owner failure to transfer title.

May 28

Troopers at 7:49 p.m. received a REDDI report of a driver near Mile 156 Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. Troopers contacted the suspect vehicle and driver and arrested a 38-year-old Wasilla man for DUI. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Troopers at 9:33 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 40-year-old Anchor Point man in Anchor Point for a seatbelt violation. He was charged with driving while license revoked.

Troopers at 11:29 p.m. made a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a 45-year-old Homer man on the Old Sterling Highway. They determined he had been convicted of driving while license revoked eight times in the past 10 years and charged him with driving while license revoked. They also charged him with not having automobile insurance and violating conditions of release.

May 29

Troopers at 6:25 p.m. made a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a 48-year-old Anchor Point man on the Old Sterling Highway. Troopers issued the man summonses for driving while license revoked and no motor vehicle liability insurance.
