June 3

A caller at 8:44 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Mile 172 Sterling Highway. Officers contacted the driver and noted no impairment.

A caller at 9:50 p.m. reported unknown people on their property on Lakeshore Drive who were falsely representing themselves. Officers went to the scene.

A caller at 10:33 p.m. reported a man lying in the roadway at Main Street and Ohlson Lane, possibly under the influence of something. Officers went to the scene.

A caller at 10:55 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle inbound to Homer with excessive speed and swerving. Officers contacted the driver at Mile 2 Spit Road and arrested the 45-year-old man for driving under the influence.

June 4

A caller at 12:23 a.m. reported having a medical issue and needing transportation on Main Street. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 10:05 a.m. reported a theft from a building on Ben Walters Lane. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 11:28 a.m. made a REDDI report on a driver on Lake Street. An officer detected no impairment when they contacted the driver.

A caller at 12:46 p.m. reported an ATV in a restricted area on Bishop’s Beach. An officer advised the rider where they were allowed to ride.

A caller at 5:14 p.m. reported a vehicle crash, with damaged caused, at Douglas Place and Ocean Drive. An officer responded to the scene along with a tow truck.

A caller at 5:10 p.m. reported there was a bear on her front porch on Sprucewood Drive. She asked for options to get the bear to leave, and an officer advised her.

A caller at 6:53 p.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle on East Pioneer Avenue. An officer responded to the area and found the vehicle in question unoccupied.

A caller at 7:09 p.m. reported suspicious activity on Lake Shore Drive. An officer went to the location.

An officer at 8:18 p.m. issued a driver a summons for a driver’s license violation at Bartlett Street and No View.

A caller at 11:57 p.m. reported a disturbance on Ben Walters Lane. Officers responded to the location.

June 5

Multiple callers at an unknown time reported a man acting violently on Bartlett Street. An officer went to the location.

A caller at 11:20 a.m. reported vandalism to their property on Mark White Avenue. An officer went to their location.

A man at 3:15 p.m. went to the police station counter to report people on vacant property on the Sterling Highway. Officers went to the area but were unable to locate anyone.

A caller at 7:22 p.m. reported finding something suspicious on Race Road. An officer advised them what to do.

A caller at 7:29 p.m. reported a vehicle in the ditch and unoccupied on Hazel Street. An officer went to the area, but the vehicle was gone.

A caller at 7:43 p.m. reported the sound of an alarm coming from the house across the street on Lee Drive. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 9:37 p.m. reported vehicles parked in the roadway and suspicious activity on Bay Vista Court. An officer went to the area and advised one person that they were trespassing.

A man at 11:45 p.m. went to the police station counter to report a customer not wanting to pay their cab fare. Officers ended up arresting a 40-year-old woman for disorderly conduct and theft of services.

June 6

Officers at 12:18 a.m. arrested a 31-year-old woman on an arrest warrant on Mission Road.

A caller at 1:42 p.m. reported a man wearing hospital clothing and no shoes walking on the side of the road on Ocean Drive. An officer went to the area and contacted the man, who said he was fine.

A caller at 4:45 p.m. reported someone using compression brakes in an area where they are not allowed at East End Road and Meadow Drive. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

An officer at 9:56 p.m. was checking out a vehicle with a suspicious license plate at Mile 3 Spit Road, and seized the license plate.

A caller at 11:27 p.m. reported a vehicle parked in the roadway at Bay Vista Court and Bay Vista Place. An officer went to the area and impounded the vehicle.

June 7

A caller at 9:25 a.m. made a REDDI report on a vehicle at Main Street and Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.

A man went to the police station counter at 9:44 a.m. requesting to speak to an officer. An officer assisted the man.

A caller at 2 p.m. reported a possible road rage incident at Adams Road and East End Road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicles involved.

A caller at 2:16 p.m. requested officer assistance with a probationer on East Bayview Avenue. An officer went to the area. Contact was made with the probationers and all was found to be OK.

A caller at 4:42 p.m. reported a vehicle crash that had caused damage at Bay Vista and the Sterling Highway. Officers went to the location and called a tow truck.

A caller at 8:33 p.m. reported dogs on the loose in the roadway on Spit Road. An officer went to the location and contacted the dogs’ owner. The dogs returned.

A caller at 9:43 p.m. reported a suspicious man inside a vehicle backed up to a building on Denel Avenue. An officer responded to the scene.

A caller at 11:17 p.m. reported a vehicle outside blaring music on West Pioneer Avenue. An officer went to the area.

June 8

A caller at 12:31 a.m. reported a “mama moose and two babies” walking in the road at Pioneer Avenue and Main Street. An officer was advised.

An officer at 4:35 a.m. made a traffic stop on Main Street, and issued the driver a warning about their taillight being out.

A caller at 4:39 a.m. reported a suspicious man loitering in the area on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene but was unable to locate the man.

A caller at 12:17 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle and possibly illegal camping at Cozy Cove Drive and Skyline Drive. An officer went to the area and located the vehicle, but couldn’t find anyone associated with it.

A caller at 4:29 p.m. reported a crash between two vehicles at Grubstake Avenue and Heath Street. Officers went to the scene.

A man at 4:44 p.m. went to the police station requesting information. The man was given a DUI warning and allowed to return home on foot.

An officer at 7:35 p.m. searched a vehicle on Heath Street under a search warrant.

A caller at 10:28 p.m. reported a possibly intoxicated man brandishing a weapon at Mile 3 Spit Road. Officers responded to the area.

June 9

A caller at 1:29 a.m. reported five men acting aggressively and trying to start a fight on Shelford Street. Officers went to the scene.

Multiple callers at 11:06 a.m. reported an altercation at a business on FAA Road. An officer went to the scene and separated the people involved. It did not rise to the level of a crime.

An agency at 12:12 p.m. reported illegal camping at Mile 4 Spit Road. An officer went to the area, and the person involved agreed to have their vehicle removed from the beach area.

A caller at 1:22 p.m. reported a two-vehicle crash in a parking lot on the Sterling Highway. An officer went to the location to take a report.

A caller at 3:25 p.m. reported an attempted burglary on Mark White Avenue. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 3:54 p.m. reported a vehicle collision in the parking lot of a business on Spit Road that had caused damage. An officer went to the scene.

A caller at 4:28 p.m. reported a trailer with an unsecured load at Mile 3 East End Road. The caller reported the trailer was losing items along the road. An officer contacted the driver, who was unaware the load had become unsecure and said he would pick up the trash.

An officer at 5:34 p.m. warned a driver for speeding at Mile 171 Sterling Highway.

A caller at 9:01 p.m. reported an intoxicated man harassing a woman along the roadway at Freight Dock Road and Spit Road. An officer went to the scene. The people were separated and a warning was given.

A caller at 9:05 p.m. reported a vehicle parked on private property at East Bunnell Avenue and Allen Way. The caller wanted the vehicle’s owner to be given a trespass notice to keep them from the property. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 9:47 p.m. reported an aggressive man causing problems for the previous two days on Spit Road. Officers went to the area.

June 10

An officer at 12:40 a.m. contacted a vehicle that was on vacant land on Pennock Street. The officer advised the owner they had a permanent trespass notice to stay off the property.

A caller at 1:23 a.m. reported an intoxicated woman refusing to leave on Spit Road. Officers went to the scene and arrested the 40-year-old woman for violating the pre trial release program. She was housed at Homer Jail.

A caller at 1:32 a.m. reported her ex was threatening and harassing her on Crestwood Circle. Officers went to the scene and arrested the 29-year-old man for assault.

A caller at 6:16 a.m. reported a possible shoplifter in a store on Homer Bypass Road. An officer went to the scene and issued a 26-year-old man a summons for concealment of merchandise.

A caller at 10:27 a.m. reported a man camping in a public restroom on Ben Walters Lane. An officer went to the scene and advised the man to move along.

An officer at 1:23 p.m. assisted the Homer Volunteer Fire Department on Bartlett Street.

A caller at 4:05 p.m. reported ATVs driving recklessly on Bishop’s Beach. An officer contacted the ATV riders.

A caller at 4:56 p.m. reported her boyfriend was suicidal on East Hill Road. An officer went to the scene and the man was taken to South Peninsula Hospital. He was later held on a Title 47 hold for his own safety.

A caller at 6:28 p.m. requested a welfare check on a small child riding a bike at East Hill Road and East End Road. An officer went to the area and found all was OK.

A caller at 8:33 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle at a business on East End Road without having a reason to be there. Officers went to the area and issued a 26-year-old man a summons for trespassing.

Officers at 8:59 p.m. contacted a vehicle in which the passenger had a warrant for his arrest. The passenger “bailed from (the) vehicle” at Pennock Street and Lakeside Drive. The 34-year-old man was remanded on four outstanding warrants.

Officers at 11:50 p.m. assisted medics on Svedlund Street.

June 11

A caller at 7:42 a.m. reported a suicidal man on El Sarino Court. An officer went to the area.

A caller at 11:37 a.m. reported a dog at large chasing people on Skyline Drive. Officers notified the animal control officer.

A caller at 3:02 p.m. requested a welfare check on a suicidal friend on El Sarino Court. An officer was advised and the man was transported for protective custody.

An officer at 6:30 p.m. made a public appearance at a mayoral recognition reading at City Hall.

An officer at 11:47 p.m. cited a driver for driving with their license revoked at Mile 170 Sterling Highway.

Troopers

June 12

Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation for king salmon fishing as a non-resident without a king salmon stamp to a 21-year-old Georgia man at the Homer Lagoon. Bail is set at $210 in the Homer Court.

Alaska Wildlife Troopers issued a citation for fishing with illegal gear to a 28-year-old Homer man at the Homer Lagoon. Bail is set at $60 in the Homer Court.
