An alarm company at 11:02 p.m. reported a commercial burglar alarm on Lake Street. Officers went to the location and found the building was secure and it was a false alarm.

An officer at 1:39 p.m. assisted a motorist with keys locked inside the person’s car on Bartlett Street.
An officer at 5:25 p.m. served a citizen with a protective order on White Alder Court.
A caller at 9:03 p.m. reported that a man drove into the ditch across from his residence on Rogers Loop and had asked for a tow. Officers responded to the scene and warned the man for driving on a suspended license.
A caller reported their roommate was shooting weapons in his bedroom on Jenny Way. Officers went to the location and found the report was unfounded. An officer provided a ride to one man to an alternate location for the night.

Alaska State Troopers at 3:13 a.m. reported a residential burglar alarm on Dorothy Drive. Officers responded to the location and found it was a false alarm.
A caller at 12:39 p.m. reported a Comfort One death on Rochelle Road. Officers responded to the home.
An officer at 5:54 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers on Bay Vista.
A caller at 7:05 p.m. had questions regarding a possible temporary restraining order violation on White Alder Court. An officer responded to the scene.
A caller at 9:55 p.m. reported a traffic signal not working at Lake Street and the Homer Bypass. An officer responded to the location and saw that the signal appeared to be working properly.

An officer at 2:45 a.m. contacted a man walking in the cold at Ronda Street and East End Road and provided a ride to the man’s residence.
An officer at 8:22 a.m. warned a driver for speeding at West Hill Road and the Sterling Highway.
A caller at 4 p.m. reported children playing in the roadway on Kachemak Way. An officer responded to the scene.
A caller at 5:07 p.m. made a Report Every Dangerous Driver Immediately (REDDI) report on a vehicle traveling at high speeds at Mile 171 Sterling Highway. An officer responded to the area but was unable to locate the vehicle.
A caller at 6:28 p.m. reported an aggressive hitchhiker at Pioneer Avenue and the Sterling Highway. An officer responded to the location.
Alaska State Troopers passed along a REDDI report. An officer at 10:58 p.m. contacted the driver on the Sterling Highway and noted no impairment.

A caller at 1:26 a.m. reported a possible stolen vehicle on Seaview Circle. An officer made contact with the vehicle and found the report was unfounded.
A caller at 12:16 p.m. reported an ATV in a restricted area of Bishop’s Beach. An officer contacted the person driving the ATV and advised them about the beach regulations.
A caller at 4:18 p.m. reported a person “housed” in a public restroom at Mile 4 Spit Road. The man was sent from the restroom with a trespass warning.
A caller at 5:48 p.m. reported a vehicle parked partially in the roadway at Race Road and East Hill Road. An officer responded to the area.
A caller at 7:51 p.m. reported a man jumping into oncoming traffic on the Homer Bypass trying to get a ride. Officers responded to the scene.

A caller at 12:09 a.m. reported a possible case of vandalism in progress on Hazel Avenue. Officers made contact with the suspected people, but found no damage.
A caller at 4:22 p.m. reported a man panhandling at a business on the Homer Bypass. The caller told officers he felt intimidated. An officer responded to the area.
A caller at 6:29 p.m. reported concerns for the welfare of a dog left in a vehicle on Spit Road. An officer contacted the registered owner of the dog and found all was OK.
A caller at 7:18 p.m. reported an unruly passenger, requesting that an officer meet the plane the passenger was on when it landed. An officer responded to the location on FAA Road, and gave a woman a warning for disorderly conduct for the evening.
An officer at 10:41 p.m. made contact with suspicious people outside a closed business on Ocean Drive.

A caller at 8:23 a.m. reported a Comfort One death on Herndon Street. An officer went to the scene.
A caller at 11:04 a.m. requested a welfare check on a man in a vehicle on the Homer Bypass. An officer responded to the location and found all was OK.
An officer at 3:52 p.m. arrested a 39-year-old woman on a warrant on Lake Street. She was booked and lodged at the Homer Jail.
A caller at 10:26 p.m. reported a man sleeping in the lobby of a closed business on Heath Street. An officer responded to the location and provided transportation for the man to a vessel in the Homer Harbor.

A harbor officer at 4:43 a.m. reported suspicious activity at Freight Dock Road and Spit Road. Officers responded to the area.
Troopers
Jan. 9
Alaska State Troopers at about 8:20 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 48-year-old Homer man driving on Kittiwake Drive near East End Road. Troopers said an investigation showed the man operated a motor vehicle while under the influence. Troopers arrested the man and took him to the Homer Jail for a breath sample.

Henri V. Mischler, 27, charges dismissed due to delay in Superior Court transfer and as part of a plea agreement in another case: second-degree burglary, third-degree theft and fourth-degree criminal mischief.
Jesse W. Cook, 29, charge dismissed due to delay in transfer to Superior Court, first-degree assault. Cook pleaded guilty to fourth-degree assault. He was sentenced to 90 days in jail with 90 days suspended and fined $1,000 with $500 suspended; ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined, $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to give a DNA sample if requested by an officer; ordered to forfeit any items seized; placed on probation for one year; and ordered to have no contact with his victim.
Rheanna R. Tussey, 24, charge dismissed, second-degree criminal trespass. Tussey pleaded guilty to third-degree theft and violating conditions of release. She was sentenced to a total of 15 days in jail with 15 days suspended for the two counts, and fined $1,000 with $500 suspended. She was ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined, $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; was placed on probation for one year; and was ordered to not enter Save U More during that time. In a separate case, Tussey pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal trespass. She was sentenced to 10 days in jail with 10 days suspended and fined $500 with $400 suspended; ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined, $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; placed on probation for one year; and ordered to not enter O’Reilly’s Auto Parts during that time.
Derek Z.T. Jokay-Szilagyi, 45, charge dismissed, second-degree terroristic threatening. Jokay-Szilagyi pleaded guilty to resisting or interfering with an arrest and was sentenced to serve 30 days with 20 days suspended; fined $1,000 with $1,000 suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; ordered to obtain a new mental health evaluation; ordered not to have direct contact with the Homer Behavioral Health Center; and placed on probation for one year.
Willa K. Spencer, 64, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree theft. She was sentenced to serve five days with five days suspended and fined $500 with $350 suspended; ordered to pay restitution in an amount to be determined, $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a suspended $100 jail surcharge; placed on probation for six months; and ordered not to have contact with Save U More.
Jessica L. Stout, 35, pleaded guilty to driving with no motor vehicle liability insurance. She was fined $150 with nothing suspended, and ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund.
Ryan M. Martin, 34, pleaded guilty to violating a domestic violence protective order. He was sentenced to serve 30 days with 29 days suspended, and the one day has already been served. He was fined $500 with $500 suspended; ordered to pay $50 to support the Police Training Fund and a $150 jail surcharge with $100 suspended; placed on probation for one year; and ordered to follow the conditions of the domestic violence protective order in effect.
