Longtime commercial fisherman and Homer resident Jerre Wills signs his new book, “Alaska is My Mistress,” from 3-6 p.m. Oct. 11 at Redden Marine-Kachemak Gear Shed. “It is about 55 years of packed-full adventure,” Will describes his book. He homesteaded in the late 1950s near Soldotna and became a commercial fisherman in the early 1960s. He also worked as a big game guide and pilot and competed in mountain running races.

“Alaska has been so dear to me by sharing so much excitement that I feel blessed and humbled to have been a small part of the great land and sea,” Wills said.

Published by Publication Consultants, the book is $19.95.
