Four plays open this weekend at Pier One

Pier One Theatre’s summer season continues with four plays opening this weekend. Shows are 7:30 p.m. Friday-Saturday and Aug. 28, 29, 30 at the little theater on the Homer Spit. All shows are “pay as you can,” with tickets available at the Homer Bookstore or at the Pier One box office. For more information, call 235-7333.

Showing are “The Coyote Strategem,” written by G. Flores; “Creatures,” by Janet Allard; “You’re Invited,” by Darren Canady, and “The Gold and Silver Waltz,” by Romulus Linney. Nancy Chastain directed the plays with assistance from Ken Landfield. Cast members include Thom Custer, Rowyn Cunningham, Owen Duffy, Jessica Guitierrez-Hahn, Amy Reedy, Dick Sanders and Peter Sheppard.

“The emotional range of these plays is from a recognition of the deepest kind of grace we could receive from another person, to absolute whacked-out mayhem,” said Pier One executive director Lance Petersen.
