White Eagle Medicine Woman, the drumkeeper of the 7-foot wide Alaska Grandmother Drum, and performance artist Michaela Baumgartner offer a one-day ceremonial drum making workshop. Participants will make a traditional North American hoop drum and learn Rainbow Fire Medicine Wheel techniques, stories and songs. Participants will be initiated in the Drum for Change global network. The workshop is 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Aug. 9 at Homer United Methodist Church. The fee is $111 plus the cost of the drum. Bring a lunch.
