Police at 8:29 a.m. received a 911 call with an open line from Homer Middle School. On call back police determined all was OK and that it was a possible prank.

A woman at 9:35 a.m. reported a truck using air-assist brakes in the East End Road area.

A caller at 10:22 a.m. reported a man lying on the ground next to a bicycle in the Homer Public Library driveway. The man later left the area.

A caller at 10:54 a.m. reported drivers failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Pioneer Avenue near Main Street.

A caller at 11 a.m. reported a man made suicide threats. Police responded and determined all was OK.

A woman at 11:06 a.m. reported finding a bracelet at Pick ‘n’ Pay.

A caller at 11:30 a.m. asked for information on laws regarding driving four-wheelers on the roadway and private property.

Police at noon warned an equipment operator about load limits on East End Road.

A caller at 12:11 p.m. reported a tractor-trailer with a strap flapping toward oncoming traffic being driven on the Sterling Highway. Police contacted the driver and the strap was secured.

Police at 1:59 p.m. assisted the Homer Court at a domestic violence hearing.

Police at 3 p.m. assisted the Homer Court with fingerprinting for a felony judgment.

A caller at 9:34 p.m. reported a man passed out in a car parked at a Sterling Highway gas station. Police responded and arrested a 32-year-old man for fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, morphine, and sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, marijuana.

A person at 11:35 p.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute in progress at a Svedlund Street home. Police responded and arrested a 55-year-old man for disorderly conduct, violating parole and resisting arrest.

April 30

A woman at 1:37 a.m. made a 911 call of an assault by a man at a Klondike Avenue address who then left. Police responded and found the woman uncooperative and refusing medical help. Police said the call was unfounded. The woman later made a 911 call at 2:10 a.m. requesting medical aid at a Klondike Avenue address. Police and EMTs responded and took the woman to South Peninsula Hospital.

A caller at 12:20 p.m. reported a man at Mariner Park with a short rifle. Police responded and determined the rifle had been stolen in an Anchorage burglary. Police seized the rifle and stored it in evidence.

A caller at 12:39 p.m. reported an abandoned car at a Sterling Highway church. The car had a broken windshield and steering column. 

A caller at 1:33 p.m. reported a car hit by an unknown driver at the Homer Airport parking lot.

A caller at 2:30 p.m. reported an aggressive dog at Ben Walters Park. Police advised animal control.

May 1

A school official at 9:21 a.m. reported a student with marijuana at Homer High School. Police responded and charged a 19-year-old woman with fourth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance, possessing marijuana within 500 feet of school grounds.

A person at 10:55 a.m. made a 911 call of a car crash with no injuries at the Sterling Highway and Main Street intersection.

A person at 12:19 p.m. made a 911 call that a man harassed him on the Poopdeck Trail. Police arrested a 55-year-old man for disorderly conduct.

A school official at 12:55 p.m. reported a student with marijuana at Homer High School. Police referred a juvenile to the Division of Juvenile Justice for sixth-degree misconduct involving a controlled substance and issued a summons to a family member, a 21-year-old woman, for contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A woman at 4:55 p.m. made a 911 call of being locked out of her Skyline Drive home by her partner. She later called and said she was let inside.

A school official at 3 p.m. reported possibly cyberbullying by two students to each other at Homer Middle School.

A caller at 9:05 p.m. reported being harassed.

May 2

A caller at 5:51 a.m. made a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a driver on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 2:15 p.m. reported possible drug activity at a Bartlett Street address.

Several callers at 4:13 p.m. reported a drunk pedestrian on Main Street. Police responded and took a 60-year-old man into protective custody.

A caller at 5:26 p.m. asked for extra police patrols on Ocean Drive because of gas being siphoned from cars.

Police at 8:04 p.m. contacted a 22-year-old woman driving on West Hill Road and issued her a summons from driving while license revoked and not having an ignition interlock device.

A person at 9:09 p.m. made a 911 call of a person trying to get into a parked car on Fairview Avenue. Police took at 64-year-old woman into protective custody.

Several callers at 10:40 p.m. reported loud vehicles being driven up and down Bishop’s Beach. Police contacted the drivers.

May 3

Police at 2:14 a.m. contacted a 48-year-old man driving on East End Road and arrested him for driving under the influence and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

A person at 12:30 p.m. turned in an identification card found at Karen Hornaday Park.

A caller at 2:12 p.m. reported a man building a campfire in an unauthorized area on Pioneer Avenue.

A caller at 4:25 p.m. reported smoke in the Lynn Way area. Police responded and determined the landowner had a burn permit in place and the fire was attended.

A caller at 4:46 p.m. reported trucks throwing gravel and rocks off a trailer near Mile 160 Sterling Highway. Police responded and cited a driver.

A taxi driver at 7:22 p.m. reported theft of services at a Ben Walters Lane address.

May 4

Police at 1:17 a.m. did a vehicle search as part of a drug investigation.

A caller at 6:47 a.m. reported a driver speeding in a loud vehicle near Bishop’s beach. Police contacted the driver.

A woman at 10:30 a.m. reported a car vandalized at Bishop’s Beach.

A man at 10:44 a.m. reported camping and campfires in an unauthorized area on Tulin Bluff Court. Police contacted the suspects.

A person at 8:11 p.m. made a 911 call that a driver tried to cause a car crash near Mile 4 Homer Spit Road. Police arrested the driver, a 28-year-old man, for fourth-degree assault and reckless driving.

A caller at 10:10 p.m. reported an injured sea otter on the Spit beach. Police notified the Alaska SeaLife Center in Seward.

May 5

A man at 10:45 a.m. reported a theft from a Landings Street home.

A man at 1:22 p.m. reported a suspicious vehicle seen frequently near the Homer Public Library.

A caller at 3:44 p.m. reported a missing dog last seen at a Lake Street parking lot.

A man at 4:14 p.m. reported an Internet scam.

A hospital employee at 4:24 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man. Police contacted the man and found he was OK.

A woman at 7:24 p.m. reported an assault,

A caller at 7:39 p.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man at a Kachemak Drive address. Police could not find the man.

Police at 8:34 p.m. stopped a person driving on East End Road and issued a warning for not having a front license plate.
