A woman at 9:45 p.m. reported a campfire on the Spit beach in violation of a burn ban.
Police at 10:36 p.m. contacted a person during a traffic stop on Pioneer Avenue. The person told police of a domestic dispute that happened earlier. Police provided transportation for several people.
May 24
A harbor officer at 3:33 a.m. reported illegal campfires on the Spit.
Police at 3:36 a.m. contacted a person sleeping on a park bench on Hazel Avenue and seized drug paraphernalia.
A man at 11:33 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on his elderly mother.
Police at 6:15 p.m. contacted a 42-year-old woman driving on East End Road and arrested her for driving while license revoked.
Police at 6:58 p.m. contacted a 49-year-old woman in a car on Hillside Place. The woman’s parole officer asked police to do have a urinalysis done and search the car.
Police at 9:37 p.m. did a security check on Hazel Avenue and found people camping on private property. Police issued trespass notices and told the people to leave the area.
A caller at 11:15 p.m. reported a man passed out on the Spit who had wet himself. The caller later reported the man woke up and left the area.
A caller at 11:55 p.m. reported campfires in violation of a burn ban on the Spit.

Police at 3:02 a.m. contacted a 22-year-old man driving on East End Road and arrested him for driving under the influence.
A caller at 3:55 a.m. reported a man lying in the roadway on Kachemak Way. Police responded and found the man was OK. The man continued home.
A caller at 2:24 p.m. requested police assistance to a Bunnell Avenue home for a hospice patient.
A caller at 3:05 p.m. reported a campfire on the Spit in violation of a burn ban. Police responded and put out the fire.
A caller at 4:50 p.m. reported a man in a fetal position on the side of the road on Poopdeck Street. Police responded and found the man urinating in public. A woman walked by said she had seen the man staggering around and urinating. They arrested him for indecent exposure.
A caller at 7:44 p.m. reported a woman in a wet suit and inner tube staggering down the beach to the water on the Spit. Police responded.
A woman at 8:26 p.m. reported cash stolen from her wallet while at Safeway.
A man at 8:40 p.m. reported an abandoned moose calf at a Jeffery Avenue yard.
A woman at 11:58 p.m. reported a man entered her Mattox Street home in violation of a trespass advisement.
May 26
A woman at 1:20 a.m. reported her juvenile son was missing from an Ocean Drive address. The woman later reported finding her son.
A harbor officer at 1:20 a.m. reported a red 4-wheeler on the Spit trail.
A caller at 1:53 a.m. reported noisy campers with a campfire on the Spit. Police responded and advised the campers to quiet down and put out the fire.
A caller at 2:58 a.m. reported a suicidal woman and being concerned for the woman’s juvenile son and daughter. The caller asked police to do a welfare check.
A hospital employee at 4:19 a.m. reported a patient attempting to leave against medical advice. Police responded and took a 36-year-old woman into protective custody.
A caller at 6:29 a.m. reported people in a car dropped large logs on the beach at low tide and being concerned about the logs causing a hazard to boats when the tide came in. Police responded and determined no crime had been committed.
A man at 3:13 p.m. reported items stolen from a West Hill Road address.
An employee at 5 p.m. reported detaining a shoplifter at a Lake Street business. Police responded and arrested a 56-year-old woman for third-degree theft.
A person at 6:54 p.m. made a 911 call of people walking down Pioneer Avenue and arguing. Police responded and determined the incident did not rise to the level of a crime.
A caller at 8:01 p.m. reported a drunk man drove away in a car from the Karen Hornaday Park Campground. Police could not find the suspect.
A caller at 9:49 p.m. reported campfires in violation of a burn ban on the Spit. Police responded and had the fires extinguished.

Police at 11:53 a.m. observed a tent-like structure on Bishop’s Beach.
A caller at 5 p.m. reported a lost service dog.
A woman at 6:03 p.m. made a 911 call that a person who had been given a trespass notice was trying to get into her Mattox Road home. Police responded.
A man at 11:07 p.m. reported a loose dog harassing a moose in the East End Road area.

A woman at 12:27 a.m. reported a person in a car following her on the Spit. Police determined the incident did not rise to the level of a crime.
A person at 6:19 a.m. flagged down an officer and asked for help in issuing a trespass notice to a person camping in a tent on private property on the Spit.
A man at 10:35 a.m. reported a flat-bed trailer stolen within the past two weeks from a Kachemak Drive address.
A post office employee at 1:51 p.m. reported problems with a customer.
A caller at 3:25 p.m. reported a man made suicidal threats. Police responded and found all was OK.
A caller at 3:34 p.m. reported a dementia patient with a knife at a Bayview Court home. Police responded and removed knives.
A woman at 5:20 p.m. reported a baby moose hit by a car on East End Road.
Police at 8:19 p.m. contacted a 25-year-old woman during a traffic stop on East End Road and issued her a summons for driving while license suspended.
A caller at 7:37 p.m. reported a woman propositioned a man outside a church on East End Road. Police responded but could not find the woman.
A man at 10 p.m. reported a suicide attempt at a Main Street address. Police and medics responded.

A caller at 4:11 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on an estranged family member on the Spit.
A man at 9:52 a.m. reported people throwing rocks at an eagle on the Spit.
A caller at 10:35 a.m. reported a loose dog barking and lunging at small children at Karen Hornaday Park. Animal control responded.
A woman at 11:09 a.m. reported her estranged spouse took her phone and his mother tried to remove her children from her Danview Avenue home. Police advised the woman to get a restraining order.
A woman at 11:45 a.m. reported a man continued to harass her at her place of employment on Pioneer Avenue.
May 30
A caller at 9:05 a.m. reported a dump-truck driver passed too close to a bicyclist on East End Road.
An employee at 8:40 p.m. reported a man trespassed from a Pioneer Avenue hotel refused to leave and punched a hole in a wall. Police responded and arrested a 24-year-old man for assault.
A 48-year-old man at 9:19 p.m. went to the police station regarding property. Police arrested the man on an outstanding warrant.
May 31
A woman at noon reported a firearm stolen from a Spit address.
A caller at 12:45 p.m. reported a burglary at a Fairview Avenue address.
A woman at 2:04 p.m. reported a possible missing boat on Ocean Drive.
A caller at 3:30 p.m. reported a woman placed a baby in an unsecured car seat in the front of the car.
A woman at 6:31 p.m. reported her 6-year-old son was missing from the Spit. She called back and said she found him.
A woman at 8:58 p.m. reported receiving harassing messages. She said restraining order paperwork was not yet in effect.
Police at 10:08 p.m. contacted a man on private property in the Town Square area off Main Street. Police told the man he was trespassed indefinitely and issued a citation to another man who had been previously issued a trespass notice.
June 1
An employee at 2:22 a.m. asked for police help in removing an uncooperative person from a Pioneer Avenue business. Police responded. The person left and was issued a trespass notice for the night.
Several callers at 9:28 a.m. reported moose on the Spit being harassed by people taking photos. Police responded.
Police at 11:14 a.m. received a 911 call and heard a disturbance in the background at a Grubstake Avenue address. Police responded and arrested a 44-year-old man for assault and disorderly conduct.
A caller at noon reported a person speeding at Karen Hornaday Park. Police contacted the speeder and advised the person to slow down.
A caller at 12:51 p.m. reported a full gas can stolen from a boat at the harbor.
A caller at 3:40 p.m. reported an injured moose calf in a Jennifer Place yard. Police responded and found the moose had left on its own.
A caller at 5:20 p.m. reported a car stuck on Bishop’s Beach. Police advised the person of options.
An employee at 7:26 p.m. reported a confused man at a Sterling Highway business and asked police to do a welfare check. Police responded and got the man a ride home. A second man was advised his out-of-state driver’s license was suspended.
A man at 9:42 p.m. reported cars with people shooting high powered rifles at the Bridge Creek Reservoir on Crossman Ridge Road. Police responded. A second caller at 9:52 p.m. reported people shot and killed a swan. Police also responded and forwarded the case to the Alaska Wildlife Troopers. An investigation is continuing.
A woman at 11:38 p.m. reported receiving unwanted communications from a new acquaintance.
A caller at 11:56 p.m. reported drumming and noise late at night at a Bunnell Avenue address. Police responded but did not hear anything.

A person at 3:15 a.m. reported a domestic dispute at a Spit address. Police responded and arrested a 49-year-old man for assault.
