Pet of the Week: Baxter

Pet of the Week

Baxter is a 3-year-old Siberian Husky.

Meet Captain Tubby Lumpkin — also known as Baxter. What a handsome fellow, and such a handsome fellow. Now, the staff at the shelter hate to use the F-word, but, let’s face it, he’s fat. So, he needs a little more exercise and a little less chow (don’t we all). He’s a funny guy, and very friendly. He doesn’t like the cold much, despite his Arctic breed, so he’d have to be mostly inside. But tell you what, he makes a nice fluffy pillow and loves to snuggle. Come down to the shelter and get hypnotized by those blue eyes.

To adopt a pet, call or stop by the animal shelter across from the Public Works Department off the Sterling Highway.

The shelter is open from noon-7 p.m. Tuesday, noon-5 p.m. Wednesday-Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday-Sunday.

Closed Mondays. For more information, call 235-3141.
