May 6
A woman at 1:18 p.m. reported suspicious activity at a Heath Street business.
A man at 7:20 p.m. reported two horses in the middle of Rogers Loop Road.
May 7
A caller at 2:05 a.m. reported a man trying to open the door to a Pioneer Avenue building. Police responded but could not find the suspect.
A caller at 10:54 a.m. asked police to do a welfare check on a man with no shoes or shirt walking on Bunnell Avenue and mumbling to himself. Police responded but could not find the man.
A caller at 10:54 a.m. reported a break-in at a Pioneer Avenue business.
A man at 2:20 p.m. reported items taken from his car while it was parked in long-term parking on Kachemak Drive.
A man at 3:20 p.m. reported possible stolen items on his property. Police responded.
A caller at 4:08 p.m. reported a woman acting erratically outside a Greatland Street business. Police responded and issued the woman a trespass notice.
A person at 4:24 p.m. made a 911 call that a group of young people intimidated people outside a Hazel Avenue building. Police responded but the suspects were gone on arrival.
Police at 5:54 p.m. served search warrants related to an earlier report of possible stolen property.
Police at 5:54 p.m. arrested a 54-year-old man for failure to register as a sex offender.
A caller at 9:34 p.m. reported a theft from the yard of an Ocean Drive business. The property was later returned to the owner.
May 8
Several people at 10:51 a.m. made 911 calls reporting a man with no shoes on screaming beside the road on Jenny Way. Police responded and found the man was OK.
A caller at 6:59 a.m. reported a person driving a white GMC pickup truck with a loud muffler on Ben Walters Lane. Police contacted the driver.
A caller at 11:27 a.m. reported an injured dog at a residence that might not be getting proper care. Police notified the animal control officer.
A caller at 12:57 p.m. reported a driver speeding in a gray Chevrolet sport utility vehicle on Bishop’s Beach.
A caller at 5:26 p.m. reported portable toilets were overflowing at a Spit campground. Police notified Public Works.
May 9
A person at 12:57 a.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute at a Pioneer Avenue address. Police responded and determined the incident did not rise to the level of a crime.
A person at 2:08 a.m. made a 911 call of a domestic dispute at a Main Street address. Police responded and arrested a 28-year-old woman for assault.
A man at 9:18 a.m. reported a driver in a white Ford spinning brodies at Mariner Park near people clamming.
A woman at 9:33 a.m. reported finding two empty whipped cream cans outside the library.
A caller at 9:39 a.m. reported a driver in a white GMC pickup spinning brodies and endangering people at Bishop’s Beach. Police contacted the driver and issued a warning.
May 10
A woman at 8:50 a.m. reported unauthorized use of a credit card online.
A woman at 10:15 a.m. reported a theft of property from a Fairview Avenue yard.
A caller at 4:59 p.m. reported young people driving a moped towed a person on a skateboard along the Sterling Highway near Soundview Avenue.
A person at 6:33 p.m. made a 911 call that two people were fighting on the Spit.
Police and a 911 caller at 7:28 p.m. reported black smoke coming from a chimney of a Sterling Highway business. Police investigated and contacted the owner and determined all was OK.
A woman at 9:50 p.m. reported two loose pigs running down the Sterling Highway near Saltwater Drive. Police responded and notified the animal control officer. The pigs were corralled back into their enclosure.
May 11
A woman at 7:42 a.m. reported a red Ford pickup truck stolen from a Cityview Avenue address. The truck was later recovered at 6:15 p.m. May 12 behind a building on Bartlett Street.
A man at 8:08 a.m. reported a burglary at a Pioneer Avenue business.
A caller at 11:02 a.m. reported items stolen from an unlocked car on Bayview Avenue.
A man at 11:10 a.m. reported people driving four-wheelers on city streets and sidewalks.
A person at 2:48 p.m. made a 911 call of a verbal dispute between a man and a woman on Bishop’s Beach who then got in a car and drove off. Police contacted the couple and determined all was OK.
A man at 3:47 p.m. reported an injured eagle on Kachemak Drive. Police notified the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
A woman at 7:15 p.m. reported a parked car rolling backward on Fairview Avenue.
A man at 8:35 p.m. reported an unattended campfire at a Sterling Highway address. Police contacted people by the campfire and told them to completely extinguish it. Police received another call at 6:18 a.m. May 12 of an unattended campfire at the same place. Police determined the fire was contained.
A caller at 9:09 p.m. reported an ongoing issue with a person speeding and driving a white GMC pickup truck with a loud muffler on Ben Walters Lane.
May 12
Police at 1:02 a.m. contacted a 24-year-old man driving on East End Road and issued him a summons for failure to provide insurance.
A man at 3:31 a.m. made a 911 call of an attempted burglary of property on the Spit.
A man at 9:50 a.m. reported someone broke into a Bartlett Street business.
A woman at 12:15 p.m. reported her 21-year-old son took money from her wallet.
A woman at 12:36 p.m. reported a person driving in the prohibited area of Bishop’s Beach.
A man at 2:14 p.m. reported an injured eagle in the yard of a Winter Wren Road home.
A boy at 3 p.m. reported his bike was stolen from his Mountainview Drive home.
A police officer at 6:45 p.m. was bitten by a dog while contacting a person during an investigation at a Cityview Avenue address.
A man at 10:20 p.m. reported weapons being fired in city limits on Sprucewood Drive. Police contacted suspects and determined they were shooting an air rifle. Police issued a noise warning.
May 13
A caller at 2:41 a.m. reported a burglary in progress on Ternview Place. Police responded and determined the report was unfounded.
Police at 11:52 p.m. found music equipment outside a Bartlett Street address while investigating another matter.
A man at 7:15 a.m. reported receiving a threatening text message.
A woman at 9:53 a.m. reported problems with her adult son and asked information on getting a temporary restraining order.
A man at 2:05 p.m. reported losing his jacket with valuables at an Ocean Drive address

Troopers
May 4
Alaska State Troopers at 8:12 a.m. received multiple reports of a Toyota pickup that had gone off Diamond Ridge Road near Walrath Circle and rolled over in the ditch. Troopers and Homer Police searched the area and found a 23-year-old Homer man in the area and identified him as the driver. Troopers said the man had a cell phone on him and had called for a cab, but failed to notify troopers as required. Troopers issued the man a summons for failure to report an accident.
May 9
Troopers at 2:10 p.m. went to a report of a disturbance at a Danver Street home in Anchor Point. Troopers alleged a 20-year-old Anchor Pooint man assaulted his roommate, damaged his property and kept him from calling troopers during the alleged assault. Troopers located the man and arrested him.
May 10
Troopers at 5:41 p.m. went to a motorcycle wreck at Mile 104.5 Sterling Highway. Troopers said a 53-year-old Ninilchik man riding his motorcycle crashed it when a dog ran in front of him and he tried to avoid hitting the dog. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries. Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
