The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded a $300,000 grant to the Pratt Museum to implement its “People and Place” exhibition in the new museum, museum director Diane Converse said in a press release on July 23. The grant supports design and fabrication of the exhibit, “Living Communities of Kachemak Bay,” in the new building.

“The Pratt is honored to receive this grant to design the exhibits for the new museum building,” Converse said. “This region and the amazing people who live here provide fertile ground to highlight the stories of connection between people and place.”

The “Living Communities” exhibit will show a sense of connectedness between people and place and celebrate bay residents’ sense of place as they share it with visitors, Converse said.

“The overall objectives of the exhibition are to present a personal perspective, a sense of place and a responsibility to self and community,” she said.
