State Trooper Report

Nov. 27

Alaska State Troopers at 9:12 p.m. went to an Anchor Point home to do a welfare check on a 60-year-old man. A friend asked troopers to do the check because the man had not been heard from for three weeks. Troopers entered the home and found the 60-year-old man dead. No foul play was observed. A funeral home took possession of the man’s remains pending a possible autopsy by the Alaska Medical Examiner’s office. Next of kin were notified.

Dec. 1

Troopers at 3:38 p.m. went to a single-car collision with a moose near Mile 105.5 Sterling Highway near Kasilof. Troopers said a 59-year-old Homer man driving south in a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck hit the moose. The truck suffered major damage but could be driven away. The crash killed the moose and a charity salvaged the meat. All occupants of the truck wore seatbelts and no injuries were reported.
