Sept. 30

Alaska State Troopers at 9:06 p.m. stopped a driver for a moving violation near Mile 46 Seward Highway. Troopers cited a 60-year-old Homer man for driving with a canceled license.

Oct. 3

Troopers at 3:25 a.m. received multiple reports of a house fire in Nikolaevsk. Troopers and Kachemak Emergency Services and Anchor Point Volunteer Fire Department firefighters responded and found a single-story home completely on fire. After firefighters put out the fire, a firefighter found a body in the home. The Alaska State Medical Examiner’s office later identified the body as that of a 46-year-old Nikolaevsk man. Troopers notified next of kin. The State Fire Marshal’s office is investigating the cause of the fire.

Troopers at 8:25 p.m. went to an Anchor Point home near Mile 147 Sterling Highway for a 911 call where the caller hung up. Troopers contacted a 48-year-old Anchor Point man and allege he was drunk and assaulted a family member. Troopers arrested the man for assault.
