Alaska Wildlife Troopers cited a 23-year-old Homer man and a 21-year-old Homer man for commercial fishing for salmon in Prince William Sound during a closed period.
June 25
Alaska State Troopers at 7:53 a.m. received a report of a theft from an Anchor Point motorhome campground. Someone entered a laundry room and pried a change machine off the wall, causing $200 in damage. The machine was valued at $2,100.
Wildlife Troopers cited a 25-year-old Colorado man for fishing in Deep Creek while the river was closed to fishing.
June 26
Troopers at 6:56 p.m. stopped a 43-year-old Anchor Point woman driving on the North Fork Road after they said she crossed the centerline in a Subaru. Troopers arrested the woman for driving under the influence. While troopers were on scene her husband, a 51-year-old Anchor Point man, arrived. The woman said she had been following her husband as he drove ahead in a Chevrolet Tahoe. Troopers said the man also was drunk and arrested him for DUI. A child was in the Subaru, and troopers charged the woman with first-degree endangering the welfare of a child. Troopers later charged the woman with refusal to submit to a chemical test after they said she refused to provide a breath sample for a Datamaster intoxication test at the Homer Jail.
Wildlife Troopers cited a 19-year-old Homer man for commercial fishing during a closed period in Bristol Bay.
June 27
Troopers at 8:22 p.m. went to a single-vehicle rollover on the North Fork Road near Coleman Lantern Avenue in Anchor Point. A 59-year-old Nikolaevsk man driving east in a 1995 Toyota truck lost control, went into the ditch and rolled. Medics took the man to South Peninsula Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man did not wear his seatbelt. Troopers said alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash. Next of kin was notified.
June 28
Wildlife troopers contacted a 52-year-old Homer woman sport fishing off Bluff Point in Kachemak Bay and cited her for sport fishing without a fish license in her possession.
June 29
Troopers at 12:57 p.m. went to an Anchor Point home for a report of an unresponsive woman. Troopers said a 73-year-old Anchor Point woman had died. Next of kin were at the scene. The woman’s body was sent to the State Medical Examiner’s office for an autopsy.
