Homer Volunteer Fire Department

June 20-26

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians responded to 24 medical calls and five fire calls. EMTS went to three medevacs, eight advanced life support emergencies, eight basic life support emergencies, one mutual aid medical call for Kachemak Emergency Services and four no-transport medical calls. The fire calls included responding to a burn pile on Skyline Drive and a mutual aid call for Western Emergency Services.

June 22-28

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians responded to six EMS calls and two fire calls.

Firefighters and emergency medical technicians responded to 10 medical calls and three fire calls.

Homer Police

June 20

Homer Police at 1:19 p.m. arrested a 41-year-old Nanwalek woman on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court after seeing her on Lake Street. She was taken to the Homer Jail.

At 6:27 p.m. a 52-year-old California man turned himself in on a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

June 21

Police at 12:05 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 25-year-old Homer person and arrested them for driving under the influence and weapons misconduct. They were taken to the Homer Jail.

June 22

Police at 2:18 p.m. received a 911 call that a man had fallen and rolled into a ditch. Police and medics responded, and a 56-year-old Homer man was arrested for violating conditions of release, do not consume alcohol, and taken to the Homer Jail.

Police at 11:05 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 43-year-old Homer man and arrested him for DUI. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Police at 11:35 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 32-year-old Homer woman and arrested her for DUI, driving while license revoked and refusal to submit to a chemical test. She was taken to the Homer Jail.

June 23

Police at 11:24 p.m. assisted Alaska State Troopers for a woman causing a disturbance with a sledge hammer. Police responded and arrested the suspect, a 39-year-old woman, for criminal mischief, and took her to the Homer Jail.

June 24

Police at 5:30 p.m. assisted Alaska Division of Forestry wildland firefighters for a homeowner refusing to extinguish a fire during a burn suspension. Troopers arrested a 43-year-old man for violating conditions of release.

Police at 10:01 p.m. went to a disturbance at Karen Hornaday Park Campground and arrested a 45-year-old Homer woman for disorderly conduct.

June 25

Police contacted a 31-year-old Homer person and arrested them for violating conditions of release and on three warrants for failure to appear in court.

Police at 10:30 p.m. made a traffic stop on a 30-year-old Homer man and arrested him for DUI. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

Police at 10:30 p.m. went to a disturbance at Karen Hornaday Park Campground

Police respond at 10:30 p.m. to a disturbance at Homer City Campground and arrested a 32-year-old Anchorage man for fourth-degree assault. He was taken to the Homer Jail.

June 26

At 6:10 p.m. a 22-year-old Homer man came to the police station to turn himself in on a warrant. Police arrested him for failure to appear in court.

Police at 6:22 p.m. went to McDonald’s Restaurant for a report of a man passed out in his car in the drive-thru lane. Police arrested a 47-year-old Homer man for DUI and took him to the Homer Jail.

Alaska State Troopers

June 28

Alaska State Troopers at 5:45 a.m. went to a Muir Street address in Ninilchik for a report of a woman trying to force her way into the house. Troopers investigated and found the woman tried to force her way into the home, which belonged to a family member, and that she had a domestic-violence protective order prohibiting her from being at that address. Troopers arrested her and took her to the Homer Jail.
