A Conflict Resolution Skills/Alternatives to Violence basic workshop will be held from 5-9 p.m. Friday, April 27, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 28 and from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at 59835 Tern Court in Homer. The workshop is presented by the Alaska Training Cooperative and Alaska Hands of Peace. This workshop presents skills to help reduce conflicts in work and everyday settings. South Peninsula Hospital will host an information session on making sense of medical decisions on Wednesday, April 18 from 6–7:30 p.m. at Kachemak Bay Campus. The featured presenter will be Dr. Giulia Tortora, board certified family practice physician at Homer Medical Center. Professionals from the hospital’s social services department will be on hand to answer questions and recommend resources. Participants will learn about and discuss living will, advance directives, and important decisions around medical power of attorney, end of life care and dementia.
