Alaska State Troopers at 5:30 p.m. received a “report every dangerous driver immediately” complaint of a driver on the Sterling Highway in Anchor Point. Troopers stopped the suspect, a 24-year-old Anchor Point man, near Mile 156 Sterling Highway. Troopers arrested him for driving under the influence, drugs.
Troopers at 8:49 p.m. went to a car crash near Black Water Bend on the Sterling Highway. Troopers said a 38-year-old Homer woman lost control in her Honda Accord while speeding. The car hit a berm. Anchor Point Emergency Services medics responded and took her to South Peninsula Hospital. The woman was later flown to an Anchorage hospital for further treatment. Troopers said they suspect alcohol was a factor in the crash.
May 29
Troopers at 1:49 a.m. made a traffic stop on a 29-year-old Homer man near Mile 4 East End Road. They arrested him for felony DUI, felony refusal to submit to a chemical test and fourth-degree misconduct involving weapons.
June 8
Troopers at 7:02 p.m. arrested a 22-year-old Homer man at his home on outstanding warrants for failure to complete community work service and failure to appear in court.
June 9
Troopers at 7:36 p.m. went to a disturbance at a Birch Street home in Anchor Point. Troopers arrested a 49-year-old Homer woman for fourth-degree assault, domestic violence.
June 10
Troopers and Homer Police at 3:34 p.m. arrested a 34-year-old Homer man at a Crestwood Circle home on an arrest warrant for first-degree sexual abuse of a minor. Anchor Point Troopers and Fairbanks Bureau of Investigation investigators started an inquiry after receiving a report on Jan. 26 that a girl was assaulted while staying at a Homer home. Troopers identified a friend of the family as a suspect and referred the case to the Kenai District Attorney. On June 8 the DA asked troopers to arrest the 34-year-old Homer man. The man fled from his home when troopers tried to capture him. With assistance from Homer Police and tips from citizens, troopers found the man and took him into custody without incident.
