Aug. 4

Alaska State Troopers at 6:41 p.m. went to a possible disturbance near Deep Creek Road in Ninilchik. While troopers were at the scene a car associated with the address drove by and troopers stopped the driver for equipment violations. Troopers found a passenger in the car, a 26-year-old Kodiak man, had two felony warrants out of Kodiak. Troopers arrested the man on the warrants and held him on $10,000 cash bail.

Aug. 5

Troopers at 9:19 p.m. made a traffic stop on the driver of a black 2000 Dodge Dakota near Mile 147 Sterling Highway. Troopers contacted the driver, a 32-year-old Homer man, and arrested him for driving under the influence.

Aug. 9

Troopers at 12:33 p.m. went to a report of stolen medication in Anchor Point. Troopers identified a 45-year-old Anchor Point woman as a suspect in the theft of the medications and contacted her. Troopers said the woman had been driving a car while under the influence of controlled substances and arrested her for DUI. The investigation into the stolen medication is ongoing.

Aug. 12

Troopers at 5:22 a.m. went to a report of a single-car crash near Mile 164 Sterling Highway. Medics also responded. Troopers said a 30-year-old Wasilla man driving a yellow Ford Focus lost control on wet roads and went into the ditch. A passenger, a 27-year-old Homer man, was taken to South Peninsula Hospital with injuries. Troopers said speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.

Troopers at 11:16 a.m. went to a report of a damaged travel trailer at a North Fork Road residence. Troopers said the trailer had been stabbed and cut numerous times and also had vulgar words spray painted and etched into the side. The damage happened sometime in the previous 24 hours.
