Recently returned from the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games in New Jersey in June, athlete Myrna Kuchenoff and swim coach Ruhiyyih Baker, both of Homer, were honored by other local athletes on July 3. Kuchenoff is wearing the gold medal she earned in the 100 free swim. The games drew more than 3,500 athletes from across the country, with 308 competing in swim events. Aquatic competitions were held at DeNunzio Pool on the Princeton University campus.
