Burn suspension issued for Kenai Peninsula

The Alaska Division of Forestry, Kenai-Kodiak Area Office has issued a burn permit suspension for the Kenai Peninsula due to high fire danger and predicted strong winds. For the most current burn suspension information, call 907-262-4269. The suspension includes the burning of debris, burn barrels and lawns as outlined in the 2016 Burn Permits provided at http://alaska.gov/burn.

Campfires are allowed but must be kept smaller than 3-feet-by-3-feet. People building campfires should be sure to have plenty of water on site to suppress any embers that imght escape a campfire enclosure. Ensure the fire is completely out when done.
