Don’t get cocky, kid

Ann-Margret Wimmerstedt, left, and Ryjil Christianson get into the Star Wars spirit as Han Solo and Princess Leia for the premiere of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” at the Homer Theatre on Dec. 17. All 205 seats were sold out for the first showing on the lower Kenai Peninsula of the seventh film in the Star Wars series. “The Force Awakens” picks up 30 years after episode VI, “The Return of the Jedi.”

“The Force Awakens” got an enthusiastic reception on opening night, as the audience cheered introductions of classic characters from “A New Hope,” first shown in 1977. The film continues showing through December.
