Event connects women of faith

There will be a Christian women’s conference next weekend at Faith Lutheran Church in Homer.

The two-day event is being coordinated by women from different churches in Homer and Anchor Point, but with a common goal — encouraging other women in their faith.

“Women of Faith — From Survival to Revival” is a prerecorded event that happened in Connecticut last November with approximately 8,000 women in attendance. Speakers at the event were comedian Anita Renfro, Patsy Clairmont, Sheila Walsh, Lisa Harper, Christine Caine and Lysa TerKeurst of Proverbs 31 Ministries.

There is no cost for the event, and women from all denominations are invited to attend. There will be an hour-long lunch break so women can either bring a sack lunch or go out to eat.

The conference begins Friday, Feb. 27, from 7-9 p.m. and continues on Saturday, Feb. 28, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1000 Soundview Ave., Homer.
