Homer Library offers pickup service

The Homer Public Library now offers limited service where people can check out materials and pick them up from the back door.

The building remains closed to the public for browsing or computer use, but people can check out books and other materials for pick up at set times.

Library users can check out materials in three ways: by logging into the online catalog, by sending an email to circ@ci.homer.ak.us, or by calling staff at 907-235-3180. If you communicate with by email, make sure you provide a good phone number.

Staff will bag up your items for you and give you a call to schedule a pickup time. Pickup will be available from 10-11:45 a.m. and from 1-4:45 p.m Monday through Saturday. Be sure to bring your library card number with you. Once you have requested materials and they are ready for pickup, a library staff member will call to set a pickup time.

At the designated pickup time, park in the employee parking lot near the bookdrop by the Hazel Avenue entrance and call 907-435-3195. Staff will bring your items out to your car. Materials can be returned at the bookdrop.

People who need to sign up for a library card can do so by filling out an online form, calling 907-235-3180 or sending an email to circ@ci.homer.ak.us. You will need to provide your first and last name, phone number, mailing address and date of birth.
