Homer to host harbormaster conference Sept. 11-14

The city of Homer will be the host of the 44th Semi-Annual Pacific Coast Congress of Harbormasters and Port Managers Conference, to be held Sept. 11-14 at Land’s End Resort.

The attendees list includes representatives from several ports and harbors from California, Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and the Canadian province of British Columbia, Canada, as well as representatives from industry related professional services and vendors.

PCC President Mike Loy will be presiding over the four-day conference which will be feature several industry specific courses, host-port tours, networking sessions, the association’s business meetings, and a gala banquet.

The Pacific Coast Congress of Harbormasters and Port Managers has grown from a modest group of seven people to more than 150 members since its founding in 1974 in Newport, Oregon.

The meetings provide an opportunity for sharing experiences, problems and their solutions, and for hands-on education and networking.
