Irons’ essay strikes chord

How hauntingly beautiful and poignant were Tom Irons’ words in last week’s Point of View; how they really brought home those stunning, cold-cruel days of November 1963, especially set against the Blanchester, Ohio paper’s announcement of his departure along with two of his classmates to view President John F. Kennedy’s casket. How Tom’s reflection on that moment rustled the leaves; how it left me, afterwards, just listening.

What a resonant chord it struck

Tom Irons, well done and profound thanks for being so stirred, for making me stop and remember. Indeed, it seems like only yesterday. … If only it never had happened.
