‘Living Alaska’ picked up for series

Following the success of a pilot episode for “Living Alaska” produced by Orion Entertainment of Colorado, HGTV has picked up 12 half-hour episodes of the series. Orion is now looking for real estate agents and their buyers for the series. Part travel show, part home show, this new series showcases all the wild wonders that Alaska has to offer, said Orion casting producer Cindy Baggish.

“If you’re outgoing, outspoken and have always wanted to show off your love and/or yearning for Alaska to millions of viewers, then we want to hear from you,” Baggish said. “We want realtors, buyers and homes with personality — wild personality.”

Episodes will follow realtors as they introduce their home buyers to Alaska, as well as their new Alaska abode. Potential buyers should be from the Lower 48 and in the market for “homes that scream Alaska,” Baggish said.

Homes can range from a remote cabin on the water to a new home on the outskirts of town that may even have an outhouse. Clients can be people looking to relocate permanently to Alaska or who want to buy a vacation home.

The ideal is a family who has recently moved to Alaska or is in the process of moving, Baggish said.

Agents will show clients three homes to choose from that are uniquely Alaskan. Agents and clients must be willing to appear on camera. Buyers also must be willing to participate in an Alaska adventure such as a sled-dog ride or fishing. Participants will receive a fee.

To be considered for the show, submit the following information to cbaggish@orionentertainment.com: Realtors — company name, website, biography and resume, photo and contact information; buyers — brief back-story of buyer(s), two to three photos and contact information.
