New AP fire chief hired

A retired Atlanta, Ga., firefighter has been hired to replace outgoing Anchor Point Fire and Emergency Medical Services Chief Jim Dycus.

Al Terry, former captain with the City of Atlanta Fire Rescue Department, will start on May 18. Dycus, also a former Atlanta firefighter, resigned March 27 and left on April 17. Dycus said he resigned to deal with some family issues and had to go back to Atlanta. Assistant Chief Doug Loshbaugh will serve as acting chief until Terry arrives in Homer.
