Police ask for help with hit and run

The Homer Police Department is asking for the public’s help with a hit and run that happened Monday morning.

“A male bicyclist and a vehicle collided,” at 11:17 a.m. near the intersection of Heath Street and the Sterling Highway, officers wrote in a release. The man on the bicycle was taken to South Peninsula Hospital to be treated for injuries, and the vehicle left the scene.

Police are asking any witnesses to the collision or those with information that would lead to the identification of the vehicle and its driver to call the department at (907) 235-3150, or the CrimeStoppers at (907) 283-TIPS, according to the release. Reports made to CrimeStoppers are kept anonymous.
