Homer Electric Association announced the Homer Spit and Halibut Cove will be without power from 9 a.m.-noon on Thursday, Nov. 14. The outage is required for HEA to complete installation of a new underground power line that will serve the Spit and the south Kachemak Bay area. During the outage, HEA members in Seldovia, Port Graham and Nanwalek will be served by the Gerry Willard Generation Plan in Seldovia. HEA will make automated calls to all members to be affected by the planned outage. Members are urged to take steps to protect all sensitive electronic equipment at home and at work. For more information, call 800-478-8551.
