This spring, I received the Homer Community Science Scholarship Fund, generously awarded annually by the Homer Foundation. I am extremely thankful for their generosity and for assisting me in continuing my dream to study athletic training and become a professional trainer. 

With the help of the scholarship award, I can afford to take more classes and buy more textbooks.  

I’m very excited to begin a new step in my life and, thanks to the Homer Foundation, it is easier, and more affordable. I am attending the University of Alaska Anchorage in the fall, and studying physical education with a focus on rehabilitation and coaching. Hopefully, some day I will become an athletic trainer for a professional team, as well as coach children in skiing. 

Thanks, again, to the Homer Foundation and the Homer Community Science Scholarship  committee for helping me begin the steps to my dream.
