American Legion Auxiliary scholarships, $500 award for high school seniors (B-C student), Auxiliary Unit 16 scholarship, deadline is April 1.

Western District American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship, $500-$1,000. For continuing students who are members of the Legion family. Due March 31.

Check for applications for these scholarships at the Homer High School counselor’s office, Connections, Flex School, schools across the bay and American Legion Post 16. Contact Darlene at 235-6789 or the post at 235-8864 for more information and/or applications. Several of these scholarships have a $500 Homer-winner award.

Homer Electric Association will award several scholarships to high school seniors and adults. Application packets are available from guidance counselors, the Homer HEA office or at www.homerelectric.com. For information, contact Tanya Lautaret at (907) 283-2305 or tlautaret@homerelectric.com. Deadline is March 1.

The International Pacific Halibut Commission funds several merit scholarships to support university, technical college and other post-secondary education. Generally, a single scholarship valued at $2,000 per year will be awarded. Scholarships are renewable annually for the normal four-year period of undergraduate education, subject to maintenance of satisfactory academic performance. KBEA (Kenai Borough Employees Association) Scholarship committee is currently accepting applications for four scholarships, $500 each. The scholarships are available to all 2013 graduates of the Kenai Peninsula Borough, including public, private and home schools. Applications and instructions are available from any KPB high school counselor or on the borough’s website, www.borough.kenai.ak.us. Applications must be delivered or postmarked by March 29. They can be mailed or dropped off at the Kenai Peninsula Borough, KBEA Scholarship Committee, 144 N. Binkley St., Soldotna, AK 99669.
