Homer High School:

Thursday, May 10 – Step up Day for Homer Middle School Students at 2 p.m.

Saturday, May 12 – Voznesenka Athletics Fundraiser and Shorebird Vendor Fair at 10 a.m. in the HHS Commons. Also, home soccer games at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Monday, May 14 – Senior Awards Assembly at 6:30 p.m. in the HHS Commons. Also, home softball games, at 4 and 6 . p.m. at Jack Gist Park.

Tuesday, May 15 – HHS Pops Concert at 7 p.m. at the AA Mariner Theater

Wednesday, May 16 – Mariner Awards, College Signing and Yearbook Assembly at 2 p.m. in the Alice Witte Gymnasium.

Homer Flex High School:

Tuesday, May 22 — Graduation commencement at 5 p.m. at the Islands and Oceans Visitor Center

Homer Middle School:

Track has started and goes until May 12.


May 15-23 — The school has had the privilege of working with Graham Dane through the Artists in Schools program with Bunnell Street Arts Center. His residency with the school was funded by a grant from the Alaska Sea Grant program. The resulting artwork of K-12 students will be on display at the Bunnell Street Gallery May 15-31.

Monday, May 14 — Rescheduled Academic Policy Committee Meeting at 4:30 p.m. in Room 104 at Big Fireweed

Wednesday, May 16 — Tide pooling adventure with Big Fireweed

Wednesday, May 23 — Last Day of School. All School Picnic and Play Day at Ageya

West Homer Elementary:

May 1-May 17 — After School baseball begins, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-4:15 p.m. in the WHE Gym, with a $25 fee.

Saturday, May 12 – Wildheart: The Giving Salmon unveiling at 1 p.m. at the Boat House Pavilion, Homer Spit Ramp #2

Tuesday, May 15 – PTO Meeting at 3:30 p.m. in the WHE Library

Monday, May 21 – 6th Grade Promotion from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in the WHE Gym

Tuesday, May 22 – Field Day and sack lunches

Wednesday, May 23 – Last day of school, Orca Standing Ovation celebration, PTO lunch BBQ – no breakfast this morning

Paul Banks Elementary:

Lego Creators: Wednesday, through May 23

Art/Painting: Monday, through May 21

McNeil Canyon Elementary:

Thursday, May 10 — Spring musical at 6:30 p.m., and site council elections.

Friday, May 11 — Hawaii Day

Tuesday, May 15 — Last day of Learning Lab

Friday, May 18 — Beach Day. Parents are welcome to join on this all-day field trip. Students will leave school at 9:30 a.m. and be picked up at 2:15 p.m.

Tuesday, May 22 — 6th Grade Spotlight at 12:20 p.m., as well at 6th grade graduation and Step Up Day at 1:15 p.m.

Wednesday, May 23 — Last day of school for students: Play Day
