Mavis Muller, with torch, prepares to light “Grow,” this year’s Burning Basket, Sunday night at Mariner Park on the Homer Spit. Despite a steady drizzle, about 200 people showed up for the annual community art celebration.
Now in its 11th year, Muller has coordinated building baskets in Homer. She also has built large baskets in Hawaii. Visitors are invited to place messages on the basket.
