Thank you for choosing me as one of the recipients for the Drew Scalzi Memorial Scholarship. I know that there were many other students just as qualified to choose from. I very much appreciate this scholarship. It means a lot to me and my family, seeing as we are connected to the ocean and the community surrounding those jobs just as Drew was.

I am thankful for the support of my family, the Homer community, and the fishing community in supporting me.  I plan on using the scholarship to attend Willamette University. I am honored to be a recipient of this award, and I hope that in return I will be worthy enough to help spread generosity and a love for all things natural as I venture through the next chapter of my life.
