SVT gets grant for new Anchor Point health clinic building

Seldovia Village Tribe received a $275,000 grant from the Rasmuson Foundation on Friday, July 6.

According to a press release from the foundation, SVT will use the funds to help build a new health clinic in Anchor Point. It currently leases space in a shared building. The grant was part of $11 million in grants awarded by the foundation to 16 Alaska projects. Other projects include a new roof for a Fairbanks homeless shelter, an expansion of a Kivalina health clinic and support for the Alaska Native Science & Engineering Program at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.

The Rasmuson Foundation was created in May 1955 by Jenny Rasmuson to honor her late husband “E.A.” Rasmuson. Through grantmaking and initiatives, the foundation works to promote a better life for all Alaskans.
