Vehicle convoy celebrates Flag Day with parade down Homer Spit

The processional honored the 250th anniversary of the founding of the U.S. Army.

About 20 vehicles participated in a Flag Day parade on Saturday, June 14. The procession started at Paul Banks Elementary, proceeded down the Homer Spit and ended at the Anchor Point VFW, where a flag retirement ceremony was hosted that evening.

Flag Day celebrates the 1777 adoption of the United States flag by the Continental Congress. June 14 this year was the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States Army in 1775.
